Pseudogenes like this typically arise through gene duplication or retrotransposition followed by accumulation of disabling mutations (e.g., frameshifts, premature stop codons)[2][6]. Most pseudogenes have no biological role, but a minority may produce noncoding RNAs that participate in the complex regulation of gene expression, including ceRNA (competing endogenous RNA) networks[4][6]. ENSG00000250613 is not a drug target and should not be confused with the functional DYNLT1 gene, which is an accessory component of the cytoplasmic dynein motor protein complex[1][3].
