Dynein light chain Tctex-type protein 2 (DYNLT2) is a small accessory subunit belonging to the Tctex family of dynein light chains, expressed across multiple tissues including the cytosol and especially the sperm flagellum. It serves as an accessory component of axonemal dynein and may also be present in cytoplasmic dynein 1 complexes, facilitating binding with dynein intermediate chains and supporting microtubule-based traffic, essential for normal cellular transport mechanisms and ciliary/flagellar motility. There is suggestive evidence for involvement in male fertility and associations with congenital diaphragmatic disease, but no established therapeutic interventions, biomarker roles, or explicit safety/targeting data.
