Dynein regulatory complex subunit 10 (DRC10) is a protein component of the highly conserved nexin–dynein regulatory complex (N-DRC) found in motile cilia and flagella of eukaryotic cells. The N-DRC acts as a structural and regulatory hub, bridging adjacent doublet microtubules and coordinating dynein arm activity to enable and regulate ciliary and flagellar motion. DRC10, typically forming a coiled-coil dimer with DRC9, resides in the distal region of the N-DRC and is involved in transmitting regulatory signals important for dynein-dependent microtubule sliding, and thus for the proper generation of ciliary and flagellar movement. While essential for motile cilia function, DRC10 is not a classical therapeutic target, enzyme, transporter, or receptor, and there are no known small-molecule drugs or biologics that act on it directly[1][5].
