E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase MIB2 (MIB2) is a RING-type E3 ligase enzyme that mediates the ubiquitination of proteins, notably the Delta ligands of the Notch signaling pathway, leading to their endocytosis and subsequent modulation of Notch signaling. MIB2 is expressed predominantly in adult tissues and has paralogous relationships with MIB1, but may play distinct roles in development and disease. It has been implicated as a suppressor of melanoma invasion and is associated with diseases such as melanoma and left ventricular noncompaction.
