Tumor-associated NADH oxidase (tNOX), also known as ENOX2, is a growth-related protein predominantly expressed on the surface of cancer cells. It catalyzes the oxidation of NADH to NAD+, regulating the cellular NAD+/NADH ratio, which is crucial for various metabolic pathways, including cell cycle progression and apoptosis. tNOX supports tumor cell proliferation by maintaining redox balance favorable for rapid growth.
