Overview

Ectonucleoside triphosphate diphosphohydrolase 7 (ENTPD7) is an enzyme that belongs to the ectonucleoside triphosphate diphosphohydrolase (E-NTPDase) family, encoded by the ENTPD7 gene in humans[1][2][4][6]. It preferentially hydrolyzes extracellular nucleoside triphosphates (especially UTP, then GTP, and CTP) to nucleoside monophosphates in a calcium- or magnesium-dependent manner, playing a key role in purinergic signaling pathways[1][2][6]. Structurally, ENTPD7 contains two transmembrane domains at the N- and C-termini and a large, hydrophobic catalytic domain in between[1][2][4]. The protein influences physiological processes such as response to oxidative stress, DNA damage, and cellular senescence[1][2][4]. Alterations in ENTPD7 activity have been associated with several diseases, notably some cancers and immunodeficiencies[2]. No specific drugs, mechanisms of action, biomarkers, or safety concerns directly linked to ENTPD7 are reported in current search results.
