EGFLAM antisense RNA 2 (EGFLAM-AS2) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) transcribed from the opposite strand of the EGFLAM gene region. It does not encode a protein and is classified as an antisense RNA[2]. While antisense lncRNAs as a class are known to have important regulatory functions in gene expression, including epigenetic, transcriptional, post-transcriptional, and translational modulation, and can play roles in human disease (particularly cancer), there are currently no studies specifically detailing the function, disease association, druggability, or biomarker status of EGFLAM-AS2 itself[2][3]. As such, it is not considered a canonical therapeutic target, receptor, enzyme, transporter, or other classical drug target at this time. EGFLAM-AS2 may have regulatory roles over the EGFLAM gene or local chromatin structure, but specific biological or clinical relevance remains unreported in the current literature[2][3].
