Target intelligence / Profile preview
EHBP1 antisense RNA 1 (EHBP1-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA gene located antisense to the EHBP1 gene. As an antisense transcript, lncRNAs like EHBP1-AS1 may play roles in regulating gene expression, either through modulation of the sense gene (EHBP1) via mechanisms such as transcriptional interference, chromatin remodeling, or post-transcriptional regulation. However, as of the latest data, there are no well-characterized, experimentally validated specific biological functions, disease associations, or therapeutic applications for EHBP1-AS1. General knowledge about antisense RNAs suggests possible involvement in cis or trans gene regulation and potential roles in developmental or disease-related gene expression networks, but these remain to be directly established for EHBP1-AS1. Note: EHBP1-AS1 should not be confused with the protein-coding gene EHBP1 (EH domain binding protein 1), which is implicated in vesicle trafficking, actin cytoskeleton, and several diseases. The function and disease roles for EHBP1-AS1 remain underexplored, and most evidence in current databases identify it as a genomic feature rather than a classical "target" in pharmacological or therapeutic development.
