EIF3J pseudogene 3 (EIF3JP3) is a pseudogene related to the gene encoding Eukaryotic translation initiation factor 3 subunit J (EIF3J). The canonical EIF3J gene encodes a core subunit of the eukaryotic initiation factor 3 complex, involved in the initiation of protein synthesis by facilitating the recruitment of protein and mRNA to the 40S ribosome[1][3][5][9]. However, EIF3J pseudogene 3 itself does not encode a functional protein and is classified as a pseudogene. Pseudogenes do not produce functional products and generally do not have established biological, disease, or pharmacological roles[1]. Therefore, it is not considered a therapeutic target, lacks known biological functions, drug interactions, disease implications, and clinical utility.
