EIPR1 intronic transcript 1 (EIPR1-IT1) is an alternatively spliced noncoding RNA of the EIPR1 gene, distinguished by the presence of retained intronic sequence and lack of protein coding potential[3]. EIPR1 (EARP complex and GARP complex interacting protein 1, also known as TSSC1) is a WD40 domain protein that interacts physically and functionally with EARP and GARP endosomal trafficking complexes. EIPR1 mediates endosome-to-Golgi and endosome-to-plasma membrane protein sorting critical for neuronal function, insulin secretion, and dense-core vesicle biogenesis[1][2]. The noncoding transcript EIPR1-IT1 does not participate in these functions directly, and its specific biological significance remains uncharacterized.
