Overview

Electromyographic activity refers to the electrical signals generated by muscle fibers in response to neural stimulation. These signals are commonly recorded and analyzed by the technique called electromyography (EMG). Electromyographic activity can provide information on the status of nerve-muscle communication, muscle health, and neuromuscular disorders, and is widely used as a diagnostic and research tool in neurology, rehabilitation, kinesiology, and bioengineering. It is not a physical target, molecule, or structure, but rather a real-time physiological phenomenon that reflects underlying cellular processes in muscle tissue[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9].
