Overview

ELN antisense RNA 1 (ELN-AS1) is a long noncoding antisense RNA, annotated in genomic databases with the accession number 107986809 (NCBI Gene) and ENSG00000232415 (Ensembl). It is transcribed from the antisense strand of the ELN gene region, but its precise biological function, interacting partners, clinical significance, or role in disease have not been characterized in published literature. Like other antisense lncRNAs, ELN-AS1 may potentially participate in regulating the expression of its sense gene (ELN, which encodes elastin), but specific data for ELN-AS1 are lacking. There is no evidence that ELN-AS1 serves as a receptor, enzyme, or direct drug target.
