ELL2P2 is a pseudogene related to the gene elongation factor for RNA polymerase II 2 (ELL2)[1][3][5][7]. Pseudogenes such as ELL2P2 do not encode functional proteins and typically lack biological function, although they are sometimes transcribed[3][7]. There is no evidence that ELL2P2 acts as a therapeutic target, nor is it implicated in disease, biomarker utility, or drug interactions. ELL2P2 should not be confused with ELL2, which encodes a protein component of the super elongation complex (SEC) involved in transcriptional regulation and immunoglobulin synthesis[2][6]. Key point: ELL2P2 is a non-functional pseudogene, not a valid therapeutic or biological target. The entry is considered incorrect as a drug target; if your interest is in transcriptional elongation or related diseases, the correct target would be the parent gene, ELL2.
