**Elongin A3 family member D, pseudogene (ELOA3DP)** is classified as a pseudogene and not a protein-coding gene[1][7]. While the SIII (elongin) transcription elongation factor complex—composed of functional Elongin A family members—stimulates RNA polymerase II transcription elongation, ELOA3DP itself does not code for a functional member of this complex. There is no evidence it is biologically active as a therapeutic target, and it is not associated with drugs, mechanisms of action, biomarkers, or roles in disease beyond sequence similarity with related loci[1][7]. ELOA3DP is a nonfunctional genomic element rather than an active receptor, enzyme, transporter, or transcription factor. Its primary scientific relevance comes from its relationship to other, functional Elongin A3 retrogenes found in primates that may participate in RNA polymerase II regulation, but ELOA3DP itself is not biologically active[1][3][7].
