Elongin B pseudogene 3 (ELOBP3) is a processed pseudogene located on chromosome 2 at cytogenetic region 2p16.3[4][6][8]. It shares sequence similarity with the elongin B (ELOB or TCEB2) gene, but does not code for a functional protein[4][5][6][8]. Pseudogenes such as ELOBP3 typically arise from gene duplication or retrotransposition events and generally do not have protein-coding or direct functional roles. No roles in disease, drug targeting, or biomarker use have been described for ELOBP3. This entry does not represent a true therapeutic target, enzyme, transporter, or receptor, but instead a non-coding sequence related by ancestry to a bona fide protein-coding gene[4][5][6][8].
