Elongin C pseudogene 15 is a human genomic sequence annotated as a pseudogene related to the functional Elongin C gene, ELOC. Unlike ELOC, which encodes a protein subunit involved in transcription elongation and ubiquitin ligase complex formation, ELOCP15 does not encode an active protein and lacks known biological or clinical roles. Pseudogenes are generally regarded as nonfunctional elements, remnants of gene evolution, and do not participate in cellular regulatory pathways or serve as direct therapeutic targets.
