Overview

Elongin C pseudogene 20 (ELOCP20, also known as TCEB1P20) is classified as a processed pseudogene located in the human genome[4]. Unlike the active elongin C gene (ELOC), which is a regulatory subunit in transcriptional elongation complexes and plays a key role in the regulation of RNA polymerase II activity and ubiquitin-mediated proteolysis via cullin-RING ligases[7], ELOCP20 lacks coding potential and is generally considered non-functional. There is no evidence that it encodes a functional protein or plays a direct role in cellular processes or disease mechanisms. As such, it is not considered a molecular target for drug development or therapeutic intervention[4][5]. If you are seeking structured information for a therapeutic or biologically relevant target, you may be looking for the active **Elongin C** protein (gene: ELOC), not this pseudogene.
