Elongin C pseudogene 29 (ELOCP29) is a *pseudogene* located in the human genome, with the alias TCEB1P29. As a pseudogene, it is a nonfunctional copy of the gene encoding elongin C, which itself is a regulatory subunit of the transcription factor B (SIII) complex involved in RNA polymerase II-mediated transcriptional elongation[1][4]. ELOCP29 does not encode a functional protein, lacks known biological function, and has no recognized role as a therapeutic target or disease-associated gene. Pseudogenes are typically classified as genetic relics that may sometimes exert regulatory effects via RNA, but no evidence supports such function for ELOCP29 at present[2][4]. There are no known drugs, mechanisms, biomarkers, or therapeutic indications associated with this locus.
