Overview

Endometrial thickness is the measurement (in mm) of the uterine lining by ultrasound, reflecting the proliferation and shedding of endometrial tissue in response to hormonal changes. Normal values vary by menstrual cycle phase in premenopausal women and are generally less than 4-5 mm in postmenopausal women. Elevated thickness may indicate hormonal imbalances, endometrial hyperplasia, or malignancy and is a key parameter in gynecological assessment.
