Endoplasmic reticulum lectin 1 pseudogene 1 (ERLEC1P1) is a human pseudogene. Pseudogenes are genomic DNA sequences similar to genes but are generally nonfunctional. ERLEC1P1 does not encode a protein and has no known biological role, therapeutic relevance, or involvement in disease. It is sometimes annotated because of sequence similarity to the protein-coding gene ERLEC1, which encodes a lectin involved in endoplasmic reticulum-associated protein degradation. However, ERLEC1P1 itself has no known function, aliases, or role in drug action, and is not considered a bona fide drug target or receptor.
