ENO1 antisense RNA 1 (ENO1-AS1) is a long noncoding RNA transcribed antisense to the ENO1 gene, which encodes alpha-enolase, a glycolytic enzyme. ENO1-AS1 is thought to function in the regulation of ENO1 expression at the transcriptional or post-transcriptional level through antisense mechanisms, including potential roles in chromatin modification, mRNA stability, or translational control. While dysregulation of related lncRNAs and antisense RNAs has been implicated in cancer and other diseases, the detailed biological and pathological functions of ENO1-AS1 remain under active investigation. No drugs currently target ENO1-AS1 directly, but its involvement in gene regulatory networks makes it a locus of interest for disease association studies and possible future RNA-targeted therapies.
