Enteric bacterial pathogens are diverse Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria capable of causing gastrointestinal infections. This group primarily includes species such as *Salmonella*, *Escherichia coli* (pathogenic strains), *Shigella*, *Campylobacter*, *Yersinia*, *Vibrio*, and *Clostridium difficile*. These organisms are commonly associated with foodborne disease and nosocomial infections. Pathogenesis mechanisms vary and include toxin production, invasion of host cells, disruption of intestinal barrier function, and activation of host immune responses.
