Enteric pathogen

Enteric pathogen" refers to any microorganism—bacterial, viral, or parasitic—that is capable of causing disease in the gastrointestinal tract, most commonly through oral-fecal transmission, and is associated with symptoms such as diarrhea, malabsorption, and intestinal inflammation[1][5][3].
