Target intelligence / Profile preview
Enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli (ETEC) Colonization Factor Antigen CS3 (CS3) is a fibrillar adhesin expressed on the surface of certain ETEC strains. It belongs to the CFA/II family and mediates the attachment of ETEC to the small intestinal epithelium, facilitating colonization and subsequent delivery of enterotoxins. CS3 is considered a promising target for vaccine development against ETEC-related diarrheal diseases.
