Enzyme synthesis in *Fasciola* species (notably *Fasciola hepatica* and *F. gigantica*) is central to the parasite’s survival, pathogenicity, and interaction with its host. Key enzymes include cathepsin L proteases (CL1, CL3), enolase, and components of the thiol-dependent antioxidant cascade (TGR, Trx, Prx). These enzymes facilitate host tissue penetration, nutrient digestion, immune evasion, and redox balance.
