Overview

EP300-interacting inhibitor of differentiation 2B (EID2B) is a protein encoded by the human EID2B gene. It acts as a nuclear repressor of MYOD-dependent transcription, glucocorticoid receptor-dependent transcription, and muscle differentiation by enabling identical protein binding activity and negatively regulating DNA-templated transcription and myoblast differentiation. EID2B is similar in function and structure to EID2 and can interact with other family members to modulate transcriptional responses, but is not classified as a canonical therapeutic target, such as an enzyme, receptor, transporter, or ion channel. There is currently no evidence of direct disease association, biomarker use, or druggability for EID2B[4][8].
