EPC1 antisense RNA 2 (EPC1-AS2)

EPC1-AS2
Molecular classification
Long non-coding RNA, Non-coding RNA, Other

Overview

EPC1 antisense RNA 2 (EPC1-AS2) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) transcribed antisense to the EPC1 gene. There is currently no evidence that EPC1-AS2 encodes a protein or acts as a conventional druggable therapeutic target such as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or transcription factor. Its precise biological function, involvement in disease, or role as a biomarker is not characterized in the scientific literature[3]. The main gene (EPC1) it is antisense to plays a role in epigenetic regulation and cancer biology, but EPC1-AS2 itself is not an established therapeutic or diagnostic target.
