Overview
The epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) pathway is a critical cell signaling cascade that regulates key biological processes such as cell proliferation, differentiation, motility, and survival. EGFR is a member of the ErbB family of receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs), which also includes ErbB2 (HER2/neu), ErbB3, and ErbB4. Dysregulation of the EGFR pathway is implicated in various cancers due to overexpression or activating mutations leading to persistent proliferative signals.
