Epigenetic modification refers to chemical changes that regulate gene expression without altering the DNA sequence itself[4][7]. Typical modifications include DNA methylation, histone acetylation, phosphorylation, and the action of non-coding RNAs[1][10]. However, "epigenetic modification" is a process, not a discreet molecule or drug target.
