Target intelligence / Profile preview
ERCC8 antisense RNA 1 is a lncRNA gene located on the antisense strand of the ERCC8 protein-coding gene. Like other antisense RNAs, it likely regulates the expression of its sense counterpart and may impact DNA repair mechanisms. Recent studies have identified ERCC8-AS1 among several lncRNAs upregulated in cancers, such as osteosarcoma, and its altered expression may contribute to cancer progression or serve as a biomarker. The functional and clinical significance of ERCC8-AS1 in disease is under active investigation, but it is not currently a target of approved drugs
Not defined for drugs, as no drugs currently target ERCC8-AS1 specifically
