ERRFI1-DT (ERRFI1 divergent transcript) is annotated as a divergent transcript at the *ERRFI1* gene locus, which means it is a long non-coding RNA gene found within 300–500 nucleotides of the protein-coding *ERRFI1* gene and transcribed in the opposite direction[1][3]. *ERRFI1-DT* itself is not a protein-coding gene, and there is currently no evidence indicating it is a therapeutic target, biomarker, or has a defined molecular or disease-associated function in the literature or gene databases[1][3]. Most biological and clinical roles attributed to the *ERRFI1* locus refer to the protein-coding gene, NOT the divergent transcript. Key Note: If the intention was to refer to *ERRFI1* (ERBB receptor feedback inhibitor 1, an established protein-coding negative regulator of EGFR signaling and studied cancer suppressor), that is a distinct molecule from ERRFI1-DT[5]. ERRFI1-DT is a non-coding RNA with insufficient functional characterization and is not a recognized molecular target.
