Overview

Erythrocyte membrane protein band 4.1-like 4A (EPB41L4A) is a member of the FERM domain (Four-point-one, Ezrin, Radixin, Moesin) superfamily of membrane-associated proteins.[2][3][4][5] EPB41L4A regulates cytoskeleton–membrane interactions, intracellular trafficking, and participates in critical signaling pathways, notably the WNT/β-catenin pathway. It serves a tumor-suppressive role by regulating cell proliferation, migration, and invasion; its antisense long noncoding RNAs modulate metabolic reprogramming and sensitivity to chemotherapy.[1][2][5] EPB41L4A has implications in various diseases, including cancer, neurodevelopmental disorders, and genetic syndromes. Despite its important biological and prognostic roles, no drugs are known to target it directly, nor is it classified as a standard therapeutic target at present.[1][2][5]
