Overview

EphA2 is a receptor tyrosine kinase that binds to ephrin-A ligands, mediating bidirectional signaling involved in cell adhesion, migration, differentiation, and angiogenesis. It is overexpressed in many cancers and associated with poor prognosis. EphA2 also plays a role in lens transparency and serves as an entry receptor for KSHV. It is a therapeutic target for cancer, viral infections, and cataract disorders.
