Estrogen receptor responsive long non-coding RNA 1 (ERLNC1, also known as ElncRNA1 and TC0101441) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) newly identified in the context of several cancers. It is upregulated in gastric cancer and epithelial ovarian cancer tissue compared to normal tissue, and high ERLNC1/TC0101441 expression is associated with increased risk of lymphatic metastasis and poor survival in gastric cancer patients. Its gene is regulated by estrogen receptor signaling pathways, suggesting a mechanistic link to hormone-sensitive cancers, but it does not encode a protein or serve as a direct therapeutic target. Rather, it is emerging as a promising biomarker for diagnosis and prognosis in some malignancies.
