Target intelligence / Profile preview
Estrogen-related receptor beta (ERRβ), encoded by the *ESRRB* gene, is an orphan nuclear receptor and transcription factor. It plays a critical role in regulating gene expression, particularly in the transition between naïve and primed pluripotent states. Unlike classical estrogen receptors, ERRβ does not bind estrogens but shares structural similarities. It regulates genes involved in metabolism, development, and cellular differentiation.
Ligand-independent transcriptional activation via DNA binding; modulated by co-regulators and post-translational modifications.
