Overview

ETS variant transcription factor 3 like (ETV3L) is a protein-coding gene that encodes a transcriptional regulator belonging to the ETS family of transcription factors. Like other ETS proteins, it contains a conserved DNA-binding domain and is predicted to regulate gene transcription by RNA polymerase II, functioning primarily in the nucleus. ETV3L is involved in DNA binding (specifically to sequences with a central GGA core), and through its activities is implicated in developmental processes and immune response regulation. Little is known about its direct clinical relevance: associated diseases are rare syndromic developmental anomalies, and while the ETS family is broadly implicated in cancer and developmental biology, there is no direct evidence that ETV3L itself acts as a therapeutic target or is modulated by clinically approved drugs.
