Overview
ETS variant transcription factor 7 (ETV7) is a protein belonging to the ETS family of transcription factors, which are evolutionarily conserved regulators of gene expression involved in development, differentiation, and oncogenesis. ETV7 acts predominantly as a transcriptional repressor and is expressed mainly in hematopoietic tissues. It binds specifically to the DNA motif 5'-CCGGAAGT-3', mediating the repression of target genes, and is associated with disease roles in several cancers and immune processes.
