Overview

ETS2 antisense RNA 1 (ETS2-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA gene. As implied by its name, it is transcribed in the antisense orientation relative to the ETS2 gene. Antisense lncRNAs can regulate the expression of neighboring or overlapping genes, often by modulating transcription, RNA stability, or chromatin states. The biological significance of ETS2-AS1 specifically is not well characterized, and there is little documented evidence of its direct association with disease or therapeutic relevance. It is not considered a classic drug target such as an enzyme, receptor, kinase, or transporter, nor does it act as a protein-coding factor. No drugs or clinical biomarkers are established for ETS2-AS1 itself. If research emerges connecting ETS2-AS1 directly to disease mechanisms or therapeutic strategies, this information may be updated; currently, ETS2-AS1 is best classified as a long non-coding RNA with putative regulatory function.
