Overview

Eukaryotic elongation factor 1A2 (eEF1A2) is a protein that plays a crucial role in protein synthesis by delivering aminoacyl-tRNAs to the ribosome. It is highly expressed in brain, heart, and skeletal muscle. Beyond translation, eEF1A2 is involved in actin cytoskeleton remodeling and filopodia formation. It is overexpressed in several cancers, making it a potential therapeutic target. Plitidepsin is a drug that targets eEF1A2.
