Overview

The eukaryotic translation elongation factor 1 alpha 1 pseudogene (ENSG00000270413) is a processed pseudogene derived from the parental gene EEF1A1, which encodes a key component of the protein translation machinery in eukaryotes. Unlike its parent gene, the pseudogene does not code for a functional protein and generally has no direct biological activity. Pseudogenes, however, may play indirect regulatory roles in gene networks, particularly via non-coding RNAs, and their aberrant expression has been implicated in cancer and other diseases. The presence of pseudogenes can complicate genetic analysis and diagnostic workflows, but they are not considered therapeutic targets[2][5][7].
