Overview

EEF1A1P13 is a processed non-coding pseudogene of the human EEF1A1 gene, located at a distinct genomic locus but not encoding a functional protein[1][2][4][6]. While the protein-coding parent gene EEF1A1 is essential for protein synthesis by delivering aminoacyl-tRNAs to the ribosome during the elongation phase of mRNA translation, EEF1A1P13 itself is not known to produce protein or have a direct functional role[1][5][3][7]. Among EEF1A1 pseudogenes, EEF1A1P13 has no reported independent biological or pathological function, though it has been observed to be downregulated in patients with Chikungunya virus infection[1]. There are no known drug interactions, mechanisms of action, or established disease biomarker roles for this pseudogene. It is not regarded as a therapeutic target.
