EEF1A1P16 is classified as a pseudogene, meaning it is a DNA sequence similar to a functional gene but typically non-functional and not translated into protein[1][2]. Pseudogenes such as EEF1A1P16 may, in some cases, influence the regulation of related genes through the production of non-coding RNAs, but there is no direct evidence for such a function in EEF1A1P16. It has been observed to be upregulated in gastric cancer samples and reported in glioma datasets, with unclear biological or clinical relevance. EEF1A1P16 itself is not considered a therapeutic target, does not produce a known protein product, and has not been shown to interact with drugs or serve as a biomarker[1][2][3].
