Eukaryotic translation elongation factor 1 alpha 1 pseudogene 28 (EEF1A1P28) is a processed pseudogene in the human genome, with no protein-coding function. Pseudogenes like EEF1A1P28 are usually the result of retrotransposition events from parental protein-coding genes—in this case, *EEF1A1*, which encodes a major component of the translation machinery. EEF1A1P28 does not produce a protein and currently has no established biological role or clinical association. It is not considered a therapeutic target, nor is it involved in drug interactions, biomarker use, or disease mechanisms as currently understood. Its parental gene, EEF1A1, is involved in translation elongation and has been studied in a variety of disease contexts, particularly cancer, but these associations do not extend specifically to the pseudogene EEF1A1P28.
