Eukaryotic translation elongation factor 1 alpha 1 pseudogene 33 (EEF1A1P33) is a processed pseudogene of the EEF1A1 gene, meaning it is a genomic DNA sequence derived from the mRNA of EEF1A1 but is non-functional and does not code a protein. While the parental gene, EEF1A1, encodes an essential translation elongation factor facilitating the delivery of aminoacyl-tRNAs to the ribosome during protein biosynthesis, EEF1A1P33 itself is classified as a non-coding pseudogene and does not exhibit protein-coding function or direct biological activity. The human genome harbors numerous EEF1A1 pseudogenes, most of which lack documented expression, regulatory impact, or disease association. There is no evidence that EEF1A1P33 is a therapeutic target, nor that it interacts with drugs or functions as a biomarker. It is not considered a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or similar pharmacological target. If pseudogene-derived RNAs from EEF1A1P33 exist, their biological significance would be speculative and as yet unreported[2][4][6].
