Eukaryotic translation elongation factor 1 alpha 1 pseudogene 41 (EEF1A1P41) is a processed pseudogene originating from the *EEF1A1* gene, which ordinarily encodes a highly conserved GTPase involved in aminoacyl-tRNA delivery to the ribosome during protein synthesis. The *EEF1A1* gene has a large number of dispersed pseudogenes throughout the human genome—over 40 have been described. These pseudogenes, including EEF1A1P41, rarely have described biological functions and are not known to produce functional proteins. Although some *EEF1A1* pseudogenes have been correlated with various diseases (primarily cancers), there is no specific evidence linking EEF1A1P41 to disease or therapeutic applications.
