Overview

EEF1A1P6 (eukaryotic translation elongation factor 1 alpha 1 pseudogene 6) is one of 42 pseudogenes related to the EEF1A1 gene, dispersed throughout the human genome[1]. Pseudogenes are gene copies that usually do not produce functional proteins; they may regulate their parental genes through non-coding RNAs, miRNA decoy effects, or epigenetic modulation[3]. EEF1A1P6 was first reported in 1996 and is highly expressed in human primary monocytes, with additional associations found in datasets for hepatocellular carcinoma, schizophrenia, multiple myeloma, and rectum cancer, although its precise function and relevance in these diseases remain unknown[1]. No evidence exists for protein expression or direct involvement in cellular signaling or pathology, and it is not a recognized therapeutic target[1][2][3].
