Overview

Eukaryotic translation elongation factor 1 beta 2 pseudogene 5 (EEF1B2P5) is a processed pseudogene in the human genome, classified among several (at least eight) EEF1B2 pseudogenes, believed to have arisen via retrotransposition events. Unlike its parent gene EEF1B2, which is a component of the eEF1H complex involved in protein elongation during translation, EEF1B2P5 does not encode a functional protein and has not been implicated in biological processes, disease mechanisms, or therapeutic intervention. No experimental evidence links EEF1B2P5 to pathological states or molecular function, and it is not considered a therapeutic target[1][2][3].
