Eukaryotic translation elongation factor 1 beta 2 pseudogene 6 (EEF1B2P6) is a processed pseudogene located in the human genome and is one of several pseudogenes related to the protein-coding gene EEF1B2, which encodes a subunit of the translation elongation factor eEF1 complex. Pseudogenes such as EEF1B2P6 arise from gene duplication or retrotransposition events and are typically nonfunctional, lacking the ability to be transcribed into functional protein products. While some pseudogenes are transcribed into RNA, there is no documented evidence that EEF1B2P6 plays a biological role or is involved in disease processes[1][3]. It is not considered a therapeutic target, has no associated drugs, and is not used as a biomarker or diagnostic tool. The parent gene (EEF1B2) is involved in protein synthesis during the translation elongation step, but the pseudogene itself does not share this functional capacity[1].
