Overview

Eukaryotic translation elongation factor 1 beta 2 pseudogene 7 (EEF1B2P7) is a non-coding, processed pseudogene found in the human genome and is related to EEF1B2, which encodes a protein subunit of the eEF1H complex involved in mRNA translation. EEF1B2P7 does not yield any known protein or peptide[1][3]. Most pseudogenes of EEF1B2, including EEF1B2P7, have been created by retrotransposition and remain poorly studied, with no evidence of functional protein or clinical significance. Unlike the parental EEF1B2 gene, pseudogenes like EEF1B2P7 are not considered therapeutic targets or key biological regulators and have no known molecular interactions useful in drug development[3].

Biological functions

Other (pseudogene; does not have direct biological function—however, some pseudogenes can regulate parental gene expression through RNA mechanisms[3])

Disease associations

Other (Pseudogenes, in general, may be altered in cancer and other diseases, but there is no published evidence for this specific pseudogene)
