EEF1DP3 (Eukaryotic translation elongation factor 1 delta pseudogene 3) is a human pseudogene related by sequence homology to the elongation factor 1-delta gene (EEF1D), which encodes a component of the eEF1B complex responsible for nucleotide exchange during protein translation elongation[4][6][8]. EEF1DP3 itself is classified as a pseudogene, meaning that although it shares sequence similarity with protein-coding genes, it does not produce a functional protein and has no established biological role. It is not considered a therapeutic target, is not implicated in disease, and does not interact with drugs or function as a biomarker[6][8][9]. The corresponding protein-coding gene, EEF1D, is involved in cellular processes related to translation, cell proliferation, and may act as a proto-oncogene in certain cancers[1][4], but EEF1DP3 should not be confused with the functional EEF1D.
